Five sensors might each spot the same drone and report it separately. The software figures out that is one drone, not five, and gives everyone the same clean view of what is actually out there.

A slow cheap drone does not need a $150,000 missile. A jammer or a gun handles it. A fast cruise missile does need the expensive shot. The software makes that call for every threat, in real time, faster than a person can. That is the whole business: you stop wasting expensive missiles on cheap targets.
